Frequently asked questions

Do I need any art experience to join a class?

Not at all. Most of Diane's classes are designed for absolute beginners. The only requirement is curiosity and a willingness to make a mess. If a class does require prior experience, it's clearly noted in the description.

Where do classes take place?

Most classes are held at Diane's home studio in Tucson, AZ, a warm, well-lit creative space with everything you need. For art parties, workshops, and certain sessions, she can come to you upon request. Please reach out if this option is preferable.

What are your trauma-informed workshops, and who are they for?

Trauma-informed art workshops use creative expression as a gentle, evidence-informed path toward healing and self-understanding. They're appropriate for adults who have experienced stress, grief, or trauma and are looking for a non-clinical way to process and reconnect with themselves. No art experience is needed, and no "making sense" of the artwork is required. These sessions are available for community organizations, mental health practices, and private groups. Please reach out to discuss your group's specific needs.

Can I enroll my child mid-session?

Occasionally, yes. It depends on whether a spot has opened and how far into the session we are. Reach out and Diane will let you know what's available. For single-session events like Family Art Studio, you can join anytime.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens. Cancellations made more than 7 days before a session are fully refunded. Within 7 days, Diane offers a credit toward a future session. For large group events, the deposit is non-refundable after 14 days. Please reach out directly if your situation is unusual, Diane is always willing to have a conversation.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. A Creative Sage gift certificate is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give. Email Diane at art@creativesage.com to arrange a custom amount for classes, commissions, or workshop sessions.
